I had no idea that the tallest waterfall this side of the Mississippi is not but 15 minutes from my home!
If you have not been there yet, it's a great place to take out of town folks. The hike to the lodge at the top isn't for everyone, but most individuals who workout on an average basis will find the climb moderately challenging. Once at the top the view is breathtaking. A sense of accomplishment floods into you as you tell yourself "I just climbed that high!". There's an inn I'm told that can only be reached by hiking 5 miles to it. I plan on doing that hike sometime in the future and will update how the experience was.
Amicalola falls in Dawsonville GA...definitely worth checking out!
